Ryker Tapson started Tapson’s Tree Service in 2019 with a straightforward idea: Treasure Valley homeowners shouldn’t have to choose between a national franchise with national pricing and an uninsured guy with a chainsaw in the back of a pickup. He set out to build a tree service that was more personal and more affordable than the big outfits — without giving up any of the training, equipment or insurance that makes this work safe.
As an ISA Certified Arborist, Ryker brings real knowledge of the trees that actually grow here — and what Boise’s dry summers, alkaline soil and winter wind events do to them. Jordi Tapson runs the business side, and the company has grown by adding the right people and the right equipment rather than cutting corners on either.
That approach worked. In 2024 Tapson’s was named to BoiseDev’s Peak 43 list of Idaho’s fastest-growing businesses, coming in at #13 with a 298.6% revenue growth rate from 2020 to 2023.
