“We had a large branch break but was somewhat still attached to our tall tree. Tapson’s was able to come within the hour, after hours, safely remove the branch while keeping the rest of the tree intact. They were mindful of the house and fence and thoughtfully planned how to safely remove the branch. They got all of the branches and chipped it. I’d recommend Tapson’s again and next time, they would be my first call.”
Tree down? We answer the phone at 2 a.m.
Treasure Valley wind events don’t keep business hours, and a compromised tree gets more dangerous every hour it sits. Call or text and we’ll tell you straight away what we can do and when.
Storm work, hazard removal, and making a property safe again
- Trees down on homes, garages, sheds, vehicles and fences
- Hangers and widow-makers — broken limbs held up in the canopy
- Split leaders and torn crotches that will fail in the next gust
- Blocked driveways and roads cleared so you can get out
- Power-line clearance coordinated with the utility where required
- Root plate lift — trees that have started to tip and won’t stop
- Full storm cleanup once the immediate hazard is contained
One safety note: if a tree or limb is on a power line, or a line is down, stay well back and call Idaho Power first. We work around lines constantly — but energized lines are the utility’s call, not ours.

Documentation your adjuster can actually use
Storm damage claims live or die on evidence. On emergency jobs we photograph conditions before we touch anything, document what failed and why, and give you an itemized invoice describing the work — the things carriers ask for.
- Before, during and after photos of the damage and the work
- Written description of the failure and the hazard it created
- Itemized invoice separating emergency mitigation from cleanup
- Willing to talk directly with your adjuster if that helps
We’re a tree service, not your insurance company — coverage decisions are between you and your carrier. But we’ll give you everything we can to make the claim straightforward.
What to do right now, before we get there
- Get people and pets away from the tree and anything it’s leaning on. Damaged trees shift.
- Assume any down line is live. Call Idaho Power. Don’t drive over lines, don’t move branches touching them.
- Take photos from a safe distance — wide shots and close-ups. This matters for your claim.
- Don’t climb on it and don’t start cutting. Storm-damaged wood is under load and releases unpredictably. Most chainsaw injuries after a storm are homeowners.
- Call or text us at (208) 398-3217 and send the photos. We can often scope the job before we arrive.
