Dead or largely dead
No leaf-out on major limbs, bark sloughing off, brittle branches dropping on their own. Dead trees get less predictable to remove every season you wait.
Tree removal is the highest-risk work in this trade. We have the experience, the rigging and the insurance to take any tree down without your property paying for it.
Most Boise lots don’t have room to drop a tree. So we rarely do. Instead we climb or bucket the tree and bring it down in pieces, rigging heavy limbs to the ground under control so nothing swings into a fence, a roof, a service line or a neighbor’s yard.
Before a saw starts, we look at lean, decay, load, wind, drop zones, underground utilities and what’s buried under the turf. Then we set protection — mats over lawns and irrigation, plywood over hardscape, tarps where debris will land.

Cracked or split leaders, large cavities, mushroom conks at the base, or a lean that has changed recently — especially with soil heaving on the opposite side.
Major limb loss, a torn crotch, or a hanger you can see from the ground. Some of these are prunable; some are past it. We’ll tell you which.
Roots into a foundation, sewer line or driveway. Canopy permanently into a roof or power line. Sometimes the right fix is removal and a better species replanted nearby.
Advanced decline that’s spreading to healthy trees on your property or a neighbor’s. Early inspection often catches this while the tree is still savable.
Building, fencing, paving or lot prep. We can also advise on which trees are worth protecting through construction rather than removing.
Not sure yours needs to go? Ask for a free assessment. We turn down removals regularly when a tree can be saved with pruning or cabling — that’s how we end up with repeat customers.
Anyone quoting you a flat number over the phone without seeing the tree is guessing. Here’s what a real estimate accounts for:
